Thanksgiving Crafts with Braydon

I have been trying to do a craft with Braydon on Saturday.  Here are a couple of the Thanksgiving crafts we have done so far.

Last week I had Braydon finger paint a couple pieces of paper then I traced his hand on a template.  I then took the template and cut out card stock in fall colors and cut out hand prints from his finger paintings. Then I arranged and glued the hand prints into a wreath. I think it turned out pretty cute.

The project we did today was a painting with a fall leaf border. My dad and him collected leaves while my Mom, Grandma, my Mom's friend and I made ravioli for Thanksgiving. After their leaf hunt I took an old snack box and cut around three sides so it had a "lid".  I then dropped some paint inside with a marble and taped it back up. Braydon shook the box to spread out the paint. I then lined the top of an old shoe box with paper and glued his painting in the center. Braydon then helped me glue the leaves around the outside of the painting. Voila! Fall Art!

Adventures

We have had a couple of new adventures around our house this week. Braydon caught croup AGAIN and we put his play set in the house.

First the Croup. I don't know how many times a kid can catch Croup in a season but we are working on a record. So far we are up to once a month. He is such a trouper though. He has a ton of energy during the day but at night he is up coughing and really congested. I just sit with him in a rocker and we both try and get some uncomfortable sleep. These are the times I wish Christian was home to help. He seems almost over it. He almost slept completely through the night, he only woke up once. Maybe tonight will be the golden recovery!

Since we have been home bound and he is getting tired of his toys- 1/2 we will be donating to charity before Christmas- I decided to bring his play set indoors so he can have something save to climb on. So far he has managed to pull every floor lamp over and multiple tables on to himself! Oh boys :) He seems to be enjoying the play set so far. Let's hope the excitement lasts.

Pumpkn Patch and Trick O Treating

Thy day before Halloween we took Braydon to a Pumpkin Patch to pick out our pumpkins to carve. It was a little rainy but we braved it. It was a cute little patch off the Freeway.  Braydon picked up a baby pumpkin for him and we found one for us to carve. He had fun looking around the patch and playing with pumpkins.

We took Braydon Trick O Treating this year.  It was Braydon, Christian, my Dad and myself and we had so much fun! We started at the Country Club's Trick or Trunk and he was slow at first then when he realized he could grab the candy himself it was all over. He kept going in for more. Then we went from house to house in very busy neighborhood. On our way to the neighborhood Braydon fell asleep so I was worried about how he would do but we gave him a sucker and he was good to go. He was a champ.  When we got home he was on such a sugar high he ran around the house screaming for an hour. We cut him off after two suckers.  Daddy and I enjoyed the rest of the candy. :)
He was the cutest little lion and even kept his face paint on.  It was a great Halloween!

Our trip to Southern CA

The beginning of October Braydon and I took a two week trip to visit Dad.  We stayed with my friend Ginny the first week and enjoyed spending time with her and her 3 daughters. I helped her out a little with her business All Dolled Up. You should check out her Facebook page. She does hair, makeup and nails and is fantastic! Braydon got his 2nd haircut. Ginny is so good with him it is difficult to think of anyone else cutting his hair. It is short on the sides and a bit longer on top so we can put it into a faux hawk. I love it!

While staying with her in Corona we took Braydon to Disneyland to see how it was decorated for Halloween. He tried out a lot of new rides. We went on Peter Pan, Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted House. It was great to spend time as a family. We also went shopping at H&M and bought clothes for Braydon and me. I love that store!

On the weekend we stayed with Atia, Karl and Chloe and continued the traditional McCracken/Labbee Pumpkin Patch trip. Unfortunately Christian had to work but the kids loved it! Braydon kept running around and playing in the dirt. We also went to the McCrackens Halloween party. That was a ton of fun as well. Braydon was Simba and I was a Lion King Ticket both.

After the McCracken's we went back to Ginny's, we were suppose to stay at my friends house who lives at the beach but it was raining cats and dogs all week!  During that week Braydon got croup and both Christian and I caught bad colds that we passed along to Ginny- so sorry :(.

Over it was a great trip and we had fun visiting Dad.
